National Museum of the Marine Corps: Teacher in Residence Program
Instructor: Mr. Book
Welcome! My name is Aaron Book. The 2009-2010 school year is my second year as Teacher-in-Residence at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia. In this position I serve as a liaison between the Museum and Virginia public schools. The Teacher-in-Residence position is funded by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and its partners. My responsibilities include: instructing large student groups, assisting students with historical research, designing innovative curriculum for the Museum, training teachers in the effective use of Museum resources, and developing a network of educators to promote the educational mission of the Museum.

I have eight years of experience teaching in Virginia public schools and most recently taught United States History at Potomac Senior High School. I also served on active duty in the United States Navy and earned degrees from Ithaca College and Virginia Tech.

Please
contact me if you have any questions about the program or are interetsed in educational opportunities at the Museum.
